The Master of Education in Secondary Education at UCF is designed for certified, experienced teachers seeking to advance their instructional practice and content expertise at the secondary level (grades 6–12).

In this program, you’ll engage in action research within your own classroom, applying evidence‑based strategies to real instructional challenges. Coursework blends secondary education foundations with content‑specific learning in your chosen track, all while emphasizing disciplinary literacy plus teaching and learning with emerging technologies. You’ll learn to design instruction that supports subject‑specific reading, writing and communication skills as you leverage digital tools and instructional technologies to enhance student engagement, assessment and learning outcomes.

This degree is intended for professional growth and does not prepare students for initial teaching, administrative or supervisory certification. For individuals with a bachelor’s degree seeking initial teacher certification, consider our Master of Arts in Teaching.
