UCF’s Educational Leadership Modified Core program offers the ideal option — providing you with all the coursework required for Florida Level I Administrative Certification, without the need to complete a second degree.

Whether you’re looking to meet certification requirements or planning to continue into UCF’s or programs, the Modified Core helps you build the knowledge, credentials and confidence you need to lead with purpose. Designed for experienced educators, the program focuses on real-world applications aligned with the Florida Principal Leadership Standards — preparing you for the next step in your career.

Program Prerequisites

To be eligible for the educational leadership modified core certificate program, an applicant must meet the following requirements:

• A graduate degree in a field of study
• 2 years minimum teaching experience
• 2 years of teaching evaluations

Degree Requirements

• Complete all of the following
  • Complete the following:
    • EDA6061 - Overview of Instructional Leadership: Theories and Practices (3)
    • EDS6123 - Instructional Supervision I: Clinical Supervision (3)
    • EDA6300 - Community School Administration (3)
    • EDA6232 - Legal Aspects of School Operation (3)
    • EDA6423 - Leading Data Driven School Improvement (3)
    • EDA6240 - Financial Affairs and Human Resources in Education (3)
  • Earn at least 3 credits from the following:
    • EDA6946 - Internship (1 - 99)

Grand Total Credits: 21
